Full Description: Jodhpur, Ram Singh (AD 1749-17511/753-1772), Sojat mint, Silver Rupee, 4 RY, In the name of Alamgir II, Obv: Persian legend "Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi Alamgir", Rev: Persian legend "manus memanat sana 4 julus" & "zarb Sojat" complete mint name visible at the bottom, 11.19g, 26.10mm, (Unlisted in KM /Lingen # S.02.02), no test mark, about extremely fine, Extremely Rare. Note: After the treaty of Nagaur, which was signed on 2nd February 1756, Ram Singh secured half the territory of Marwar for himself, including Sojat, and therefore, this coin must have been struck under his authority. However, Ram Singh and Jayappa Rao Scindiahad signed a treaty allowing the Maratha Kamvisdar to stay in his territory in order to collect revenue from customs outposts which the Marathas and Ram Singh shared equally.
